We regret to inform you that Acute Cardiovascular Care 2020, scheduled for this weekend in Athens, will not take place.
As you have no doubt seen in the news, the novel coronavirus (COVID–19) has been spreading in Europe. It means that many of our faculty and delegates have been prevented from travelling because of restrictions imposed by their national health authorities or individual medical institutions. Although deeply disappointing, we could not proceed with the congress or with the scheduled exams to be held on site. The health and safety of our members, partners & delegates are of the greatest priority to us.
Acute Cardiovascular Care experts have a vital role to play throughout the year but especially now, during the spread of the coronavirus. Most of the reported deaths from COVID-19 have been in patients with underlying cardiovascular disease.
Unfortunately, the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus and the resulting travel restrictions imposed on many physicians have required the cancellation of EHRA 2020 (29-31 March, Vienna), ESC Preventive Cardiology 2020 (2-4 April, Malaga) and now Acute Cardiovascular Care 2020 (7-9 March, Athens).
Acute Cardiovascular Care 2020 will therefore not be postponed to a later date.
