Dear valued partners,
Work on our annual congress, ESC Preventive Cardiology 2022, is already well underway. As such we felt it wise to assess the COVID-19 situation in Europe and its potential impact on the onsite event in Prague.
We believe it is unlikely the situation will stabilize sufficiently in the coming months to be certain our onsite event can take place safely. We have therefore decided to make a difficult, but proactive decision to deliver ESC Preventive Cardiology 2022 as an online congress only.
An onsite congress is a huge undertaking with months of preparation, both on our side and yours. Making this decision now not only allows us all to concentrate our resources and efforts on organising an outstanding online event, but also provides our community with some certitude and clarity in these uncertain times.
Frustrating as the current situation is, we trust that the preventive cardiology community will appreciate that the overriding aim of this congress is learning and sharing to improve clinical practice. Today, the safest and most responsible way to do this is online.
We would like to reassure you that our priority now will be to ensure our event is an enriching and relevant meeting for faculty, presenters and delegates alike. We will concentrate on live formats that suit an online event, with shorter sessions, enhanced interactivity, and opportunity for networking.
We are pleased to confirm that the scientific programme will be released before the holiday season, along with the opening of registration services. As ever, we thank you for your support and contribution to the success of this congress experience. On behalf of all of us at the European Association of Preventive Cardiology, we very much look forward to delivering ESC Preventive Cardiology 2022 online with you by our side.
With our best wishes,
Prof. Martin Halle, EAPC President
Prof. Ana Abreu and Dr. Nicolle Kraenkel, Congress Programme Committee Chairs
